Traditionally, educational technology has primarily focused on providing tools for teachers, allowing them to manage lessons, while students are left as passive participants. Even the tools available to students emphasize primarily on grades and performance, often overlooking broader skill development. As a result, students struggle to stay engaged and motivated in their studies. Resolving these issues requires a fresh approach to how students interact with their education.
By emphasizing the development of self-regulated learning techniques, Studyo addresses this gap by providing students with modern project-management tools for planning their work, and building organizational skills, thus making their educational experience more relevant and engaging. In today's digital classrooms, where paper planners are being phased out, Studyo Go serves as an advanced digital planner. It acts as individual planners centrally connected to a school's timetables, allowing teachers to post assignments while still giving students the autonomy to enter their tasks and manage their workload.
“Most digital devices and learning management systems (LMS) serve only to facilitate communication between teachers and students, designed for information dissemination and submission of work. Our platform empowers students to take control of their own learning, fostering skills essential for self-regulation and time management,” says Renaud Boisjoly, founder and CPO of Studyo.
For instance, the tool displays homework and exam dates while also layering this information onto the student's entire schedule. This comprehensive overview allows them to see how their tasks fit into their daily school schedule, helping them make informed decisions about time management.
The platform also recognizes the pivotal role of parents in their child's educational journey. It includes features informing parents about their child's progress and organizational efforts. Parents can offer more targeted support and guidance by providing visibility into how their child manages tasks and plans for goals rather than merely reacting to grades.
The tool’s integration process begins with the company working closely with teachers before introducing it. Educators receive professional training focused on encouraging children to develop essential organizational skills. The tool is rolled out once everything is prepared, ensuring it is fully equipped to support students throughout the school year. This methodology fosters lasting changes in behavior and skill development.
The tool also integrates seamlessly with existing apps like school information systems and LMS without requiring schools to replace their current infrastructure, enhancing the tools already in use for a more comprehensive set of resources.
The platform's impact is evident in a case study where students needed help planning their work and organizational skills. Understanding the issue, Studyo provided training for the educators and integrated its platform into the school's existing systems. Both the platform and associated support increased the percentage of students who felt organized from 37 to 86 percent.
As education continues to evolve, tools that foster student empowerment are becoming critical. Studyo’s student-centered approach addresses the gaps in traditional education technology, equipping students with the skills they need to succeed both academically and in life. By focusing on autonomy, organization, and personal development, Studyo is not just preparing students for exams—it’s preparing them for the future.
