Montessori education depends on carefully prepared lessons, yet many schools still manage them across Google Drive folders, spreadsheets, videos and paper binders. My Montessori Manual was created as a structured curriculum management system, not another storage location. Built by Joda Solutions, the platform does not provide lesson content. Instead, it gives schools a searchable framework for organizing, managing and preserving the curriculum they already own.

For founder Stacy Deprey, the idea grew from personal experience. After enrolling her son in Montessori at 18 months, she watched his school face an unexpected challenge when COVID-19 forced classrooms online. Using her IT background, she helped the school move online and found the curriculum was the real challenge. The curriculum itself was fragmented across Excel sheets, OneNote pages, YouTube links, Google Drive folders and classroom binders. That experience inspired the creation of My Montessori Manual.

Unlike platforms that begin with preloaded content, My Montessori Manual starts with a blank canvas. Schools upload and organize their own lessons, materials and teaching resources, preserving the curriculum they already use rather than replacing it with someone else's.

The platform is designed around Montessori workflows. A shared folder can hold files. My Montessori Manual gives each lesson a defined workspace containing videos, notes, PDFs, documents and links. A Pink Tower lesson brings everything needed into a single workspace. Educators can view PDFs, record lesson demonstrations directly into the platform from a phone or computer as they are created, attach notes and prepare for class without switching between multiple systems.

My path to leading graduate programs wasn't linear, but every twist informed where I am today. I began as an elementary teacher, ending my classroom days as a fifth-grade teacher in Columbia, Missouri, working with 34 students, 28 of them boys in a Title, I school that was transitioning to a STEM focus. Those years in the classroom taught me that effective education requires more than content knowledge; it demands creativity, flexibility and the ability to see possibilities where others see constraints and also patience lots and lots of patience!!

While teaching, I became involved with the NASA Endeavor STEM Teaching Certificate Project as a Fellow (followed by my decision to leave the classroom to pursue my doctorate). That experience opened my eyes to how graduate education could be delivered differently entirely online, reaching educators globally and maintaining rigor while accommodating working teachers' schedules. I've spent over a decade now mentoring hundreds of educators through that program, which fundamentally shaped my philosophy about graduate education.

We also build flexibility into our curriculum design. Rather than creating rigid programs that become outdated, we design programs that can evolve. For example, when we recently redesigned multiple master's degree programs, we incorporated modular components in courses that can be updated without overhauling entire programs.

This means moving beyond simply adding a "technology course" to degree requirements. Teachers should graduate understanding not just how to use these tools, but when, why and for whom they're appropriate.
