What has been the reason behind this success?
Stefan Park, CEO of Orzone, answers, “Through our datadriven approach and robust analysis mode, we consider learning from a broader perspective to improve the knowledge skills and professionalism of clinicians.” Orzone provides medical societies and universities with a broad suite of tools, from digital examinations to advanced analytics and AI.
In the last two decades, data driven analytics has become integral to today’s undergraduate, postgraduate, and continuing medical education curricula. With 25 years of experience creating many advanced medical applications for training and assessment, Orzone brings industry knowledge in providing global support and facilitation for medical education and training. The company has well-established collaborations, integration, and open interfaces to provide a broad offering of simulators and equipment. Recently, it was recognized and selected as part of Microsoft’s top-tier startups’ program.
Orzone is a member of Microsoft’s Open Education Analytics, the tech giant’s umbrella for its work in standardizing educational analytics. The company manages all aspects of learning and assessment for undergraduate and postgraduate students to ensure they meet program outcomes. It supports various assessment forms such as knowledge-skills exams, clinical-based assessments, records, portfolios, and logbooks.
Having multidimensional curricula requires doctors and teachers to learn different facets of education. To this end, Orzone’s technology is relatively unique, managing those complexities by various interlining dimensions in a statistical model.
Likewise, trained medical professionals can design their curricula, take a course plan they already have, and turn it into a data-harvesting model with intelligent structures. Orzone also offers the capability to create various novel approaches to data collection. Ortrac, Orzone’s product platform, has many features embedded that use Microsoft PowerBi to achieve interactive data analysis combining millions of data points, cross-filtered in real-time.
By the end of the semester or the course, Orzone combines several small assessments to create a map of the doctor’s or nurse’s competency and their progress through time, creating a large body of data. With the data and various analytical methods, including artificial intelligence, big data analytics, and statistical models, Orzone displays a comprehensive map of individuals for the entire class.
The UK, Middle East, Africa, Australia, and Asia-based test educational bodies for all medical professionals have moved away from the conventional paradigm whereby doctors had to travel from different places to take all their exams in large classrooms. With AI technology, Orzone enabled them to conduct all tests in the comfort of their own home or the hospital with their doctors. For security purposes, Orzone utilized the technology to monitor the physicians.
Using a map of every doctor in the country and their performance in various medical specialties, geographical locations, and clinical situations, they can show how the region is moving forward as medical doctors. In one of their recent success with the Swedish Medical Doctors program, Orzone reached 90 percent penetration in the whole country in less than a year. Orzone aspires to repeat that success in other geographical and educational settings in the coming years.
