Barcelona, Spain: The convergence of audiovisual technology, immersive experiences, and digital learning is creating new possibilities for education and training environments. Against this backdrop, Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) 2027 will return to Fira de Barcelona from February 2–5, 2027, bringing together technology providers, systems integrators, educators, businesses, and industry professionals to explore developments shaping connected experiences and learning environments.
The 2027 edition follows a record-setting ISE 2026, which covered more than 101,000 square meters and featured 1,751 exhibitors, including 323 first-time participants. The previous edition also attracted 92,176 unique visitors from 181 countries, highlighting the international scale of the systems integration and audiovisual technology community.
ISE 2027 will use the theme “When Worlds Unite” to examine how different technology disciplines can work together to create new experiences. The exhibition will feature dedicated Technology Zones where visitors can explore developments across professional AV, display technologies, digital signage, lighting, audio, residential technology, content production, and other connected systems.
Education technology will receive additional attention through the introduction of EdTech Congress Barcelona. The new event will be hosted at Fira Montjuïc alongside ISE 2027 and will provide a platform for examining the technologies and strategies influencing the future of education. Its focus will extend beyond individual classroom tools toward broader questions around digital learning, educational infrastructure, innovation, and the development of future-ready learning environments.
The expansion into Fira Montjuïc also introduces Spark, a new event format focused on the relationship between creativity, technology, and real-world experiences. Through immersive showcases, networking, and curated content, Spark will provide another perspective on how emerging technologies can connect physical and digital environments.
For education providers, audiovisual technologies have become increasingly important in creating engaging and flexible learning experiences. Interactive displays, professional audio, video collaboration, immersive environments, digital signage, and connected classroom systems can support teaching, communication, hybrid learning, and campus-wide engagement.
The event's broader technology ecosystem will also be relevant to institutions seeking to modernize their digital infrastructure. Systems integration allows different technologies to operate as connected environments rather than isolated solutions, creating opportunities for centralized management, improved interoperability, and more consistent user experiences across classrooms, lecture halls, campuses, and training facilities.
ISE 2027 will complement its exhibition with a comprehensive content program featuring keynote presentations, expert-led discussions, megatrend sessions, and industry summits. These sessions will provide opportunities for participants to examine technology developments alongside the business, creative, and operational considerations involved in implementation.
The international nature of ISE also provides education technology companies with opportunities to connect with potential partners and customers across markets. For emerging technology providers, the event can serve as a platform for demonstrating solutions, understanding market requirements, and developing relationships within the wider AV and systems integration ecosystem.
The introduction of EdTech Congress Barcelona is particularly significant for the education sector because it creates a dedicated environment where education stakeholders can engage with technology specialists and explore how digital innovation can support institutional priorities. The connection between the congress and ISE's broader technology ecosystem can also encourage collaboration between education organizations and companies developing audiovisual, immersive, and connected technologies.
As educational institutions continue to explore digital transformation, technology adoption is increasingly extending beyond individual devices toward integrated environments that combine connectivity, content, collaboration, and immersive experiences. ISE 2027 will provide a platform for examining how these technologies can work together to support the evolving requirements of education and other sectors.
