Neulight, a company rooted in advanced engineering and applied AI, is resolving this three-fold knot. It designed IntelliTier—an AI-powered MTSS platform to help schools operationalize support frameworks efficiently, consistently, and in real time. Despite its Silicon Valley pedigree and AI expertise, the team made IntelliTier for practical use in real classrooms, not abstract tech uses.
“Our mission isn’t disruption—it’s collaboration,” says Andrew Lawrence, co-founder and CTO.
That philosophy is reflected across IntelliTier’s feature set. Schools often struggle with data silos, behavior events tracked on paper, and interventions scattered across Google Docs, resulting in the loss of critical decision-making information. IntelliTier replaces this with a unified, FERPA-compliant repository that brings together academic, behavioral, and social-emotional data. It integrates with student information systems (SIS), pulling in grades, attendance, and other data without requiring redundant entry.

Amber Roumiguiere, MTSS Coordinator at CAVA, sees the broader impact of this approach. "Schools can look to IntelliTier as an efficient and effective tool to aid in their quest to bring academic, behavioral, and social-emotional supports to all students," she said. This level of support is especially valuable for educators who often lack the time for in-depth MTSS training. A teacher at California Virtual Academies (CAVA) scored just two out of nine on an internal MTSS comprehension quiz. After using IntelliTier’s assistant, she retook the quiz and answered all nine questions correctly. “The IntelliTier MTSS Assistant was a great complement to my school’s PD sessions. It answered my questions better than what was covered in the training materials,” she shares.
When support hinges on the next scheduled meeting, help often arrives too late. Traditionally, MTSS plans are developed during slow, in-person team meetings. IntelliTier changes this by enabling asynchronous input from teachers, counselors, and administrators—each able to view and contribute to a student's timeline in real-time, based on access permissions. Educators can also upload third-party or unstructured assessments, such as iReady or Renaissance Star, which the AI analyzes to guide recommendations.
Looking ahead, Neulight is focusing on compliance protection—helping schools avoid legal risk around Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) by flagging early signs of non-compliance. Another priority is expanding IntelliTier into a full AI-first SIS, combining predictive analytics and unified student profiles to identify issues before they escalate.
Privacy and control remain foundational to Neulight’s approach. IntelliTier uses role-based access, encrypts all data at rest, stores it entirely in the U.S., and shares nothing with external AI vendors. By hosting its models, the company ensures schools retain full ownership and visibility over their data and systems.
Through this, Neulight is helping educators cut through complexity with clarity and speed. IntelliTier isn’t just another edtech platform—it’s a practical, educator-informed system that transforms fragmented workflows into coordinated action, enabling schools to support every student faster and more effectively.
