“We provide a distinct faith-based, formative Christian educational experience; something that is needed now more than ever,” says Adam Woelders, head of school and executive director.
Cultivating Purpose-Driven Individuals
The school offers a comprehensive K-12 program grounded in a Christ-centered worldview, balancing academics with spiritual and social development. Its approach is unique in its focus on science, technology, trades, engineering and mathematics alongside arts and athletics. This blend ensures students excel academically while exploring creativity and hands-on skills.
The arts program plays an equally vital role in student formation. Recent productions such as the Tarzan musical provided more than artistic expression—they offered opportunities for students to take risks, build courage and engage in spiritual reflection through devotionals tied to their performances.
Supporting Families and Nurturing Diverse Learners
Building on its commitment to holistic student development, Langley Christian ensures that all families, regardless of their financial situation, can access quality education. About 15 to 25 percent of students receive individualized learning support due to diverse needs, including neurodiversity and chronic health challenges. The school also offers financial aid and tuition assistance to ensure cost is never a barrier. In addition, the Government of British Columbia provides funding for independent schools’ education costs, making tuition more affordable than in many other regions.
The admissions approach aligns with the school’s mission, welcoming families that share its faith-based vision. While priority is given to alumni, transfers from other Christian schools and those actively engaged in faith communities, each application includes a family interview and learning assessment to ensure a strong academic and spiritual fit.
Looking ahead, Langley Christian is undergoing a major capital expansion. Phase one recently added classrooms, multipurpose spaces and preschool upgrades. Phase two will bring a new 58,000-square-foot middle school building, including one of the largest gymnasiums in the area. This will be a hub for athletics, community events and Christian conferences, strengthening the school’s role as a community anchor. Phase three will relocate the middle school from the high school annex, allowing for continued upgrades such as enhanced science labs, an expanded library learning commons, a new drama studio and improved common areas.
What distinguishes Langley Christian is not only the knowledge students acquire, but the individuals they become. In a time when many young people are searching for meaning and connection, the school fosters a strong sense of belonging and direction. By blending academic excellence with character development and service, Langley Christian equips students to lead with integrity, contribute generously and step into their purpose with confidence.
