The company started as a small firm, providing one-on-one support to homebound students, and diversified its offerings to deliver high-dosage tutoring, identifying the need in the market. With the growing teacher shortage weighing down their operations, school districts found iTutor as a go-to partner who could provide the necessary support with its growing repository of educators. This allowed students to learn from subject matter experts while allowing schools to comply with all regulations regarding instructional hours.

Committed to eliminating the interrupted learning experiences amid the pandemic, iTutor developed a virtual quarantine room. The next big thing in iTutor’s innovative journey was the virtual suspension room, a positive intervention service for districts scrambling to keep students connected to a safe, supportive learning environment while on suspension. The service provides districts with virtual seats for students under the supervision of a dedicated, certified educator.

For instance, the company has been collaborating with Richland County School District Two in Columbia, South Carolina, since 2017, providing after-school extra help tutoring support for students utilizing a gear-up grant. During that time, the company also helped them with homebound instruction, alternative education, test prep, STEM Instruction College, and career readiness workshops. iTutor also ensured that every student with disabilities got a disability-certified educator.

During the pandemic, Richland County School District Two created an after-school homework-help program for 3,200 elementary-age students to reduce the burden on family members when students were at home. iTutor actively assisted them in supporting those students in reading and ELAs with its technology platform. As a result, 87 percent of the students showcased high competency during their progress. Eventually, families were overwhelmingly pleased with Richmond School District’s collaborative project with iTutor, and the services they proffered to help students during the evening routine.
